Almost half of fashion shows was cancelled or postponed this year due to the passing of the Queen.

London fashion week is one of the foremost fashion events in the world, which has been an influential part of London’s culture for nearly sixty years. It is a global stage for the world’s top designers and brands to showcase their latest collections. This year was perhaps the most different one yet as it took place just days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, with Monday (the day of the funeral) cancelled.

The first London Fashion Week was held in February 1973 and since then it has continued to grow and evolve with every new season. As well as having a huge impact on British design, London Fashion Week has also had significant influence on international trends.

The event is attended by around 20.000 people each year with many famous people from the world of fashion and other fields. These include celebrities, designers and models as well as representatives from major international media organisations such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Malan Breton, a French fashion designer with a strong reputation in the Parisian fashion scene, is nowadays well established within the London fashion community (as well as in other upper British ranks). He designs and develops luxury clothing collections that are all about elegance and sophistication. Malan Breton is proud to present his newest collection for the season. Perfect for any fancier occasion, this line will take you from day to night with effortless style. The brand paid respect to the queen by starting the show off with a minute of silence, followed by beautiful piano music with classical singing throughout the show.

Tran Hung is a fashion brand from Vietnam, first started in 2017. London Fashion Week has been a great opportunity for Tran Hung to introduce to the world its vision for luxury, contemporary pieces.

The show was also an opportunity for Londoners to get a taste of what Tran Hung had to offer and explore trend-setting garments that are elegant and timeless in style.

The brand paid tribute to the queen, not only by a minute of silence, but also by removing the music in the show. Although this felt like an unusual move in the beginning, most participants that we talked to agreed that it added something to the show, as sometimes music can have a negative impact if not chosen wisely. Oneself could make ones own interpretation, much like art in galleries where there is seldom music.

Richard Quinn paid a tribute to the late queen Elizabeth during his London Fashion Week show. This was an emotional tribute, as the queen sat in front row of his show back in 2018. Several of the first models wore funeral inspired clothing, which may have been the most remarkable tribute so far.

The contemporary fashion designer, Richard Quinn is known for creating luxurious looks with a touch of Britishness. The designer’s collections are always very high-end, and they are designed to be worn by those who have time to really care about their appearance and make sure they are looking their best.
